Hailing originally from Chicago, Tom Longpre is putting his campaign and legislative experience to work for the Majority Strategies team as one of our seasoned strategy directors.
Prior to joining our staff, Tom served as an operative on the ground in Michigan, managing multiple state legislative campaigns and working as an official staff member in the Michigan legislature.

When are you happiest?
Playing 18 holes with my friends on a Sunday afternoon.
What’s your favorite thing about where you live now?
I can walk to my tee times.
Any downside to Florida life?
I really miss Portillo’s in Chicago. Their Italian beef, fries and chocolate cake shake are the best.
What’s the toughest lesson you’ve learned on the campaign trail?
The right guy doesn’t always win.
Name one of your “weird” workday habits.
I have a baseball at my desk, no idea where it came from, but I have it in my hands for hours each day.
Which app can’t you live without?
Is that where you get your breaking news?
I get most of my news from Politico, Drudge and the Associated Press.
What’s the last book you read?
Band of Brothers by Stephen Ambrose. It’s a great read.
What’s your favorite time of day? When are you most productive?
Definitely late at night. I’d consider myself a night owl.
What’s on your bucket list?
I’d really love to learn how to sail and sail around the world one day.
