Some budding entrepreneurs were selling lemonade before grade school, while other teenagers had to be rolled off the couch and marched through the mall to collect job applications.

We have all had a 1st job that marked our entrance into the working world.

This edition of #MeetMajority reveals the good, the bad and the messy behind the Majority Strategies team’s first jobs.

The Good

“I delivered Penny Pincher, a free weekly newsprint ad circular, when I was 13. When I loaded my delivery bag, it weighed almost as much as I did.”
–Randy

“I rode my 10-speed to the local pizza place. I was paid less than minimum wage under the table.”
–Jason

“I ran the pro-shop at the Oakbrook Golf and Country Club.”
–Jackie

“I was a golf caddy at a local country club when I was 13.”
–Chris

“I was a wakeboard instructor at Orlando Watersports Complex.”
–Justin

“I was a clerk at a local pharmacy.”
–Ryan

The Bad

“Coburn’s Pipe and Supply. Imagine a 130 ° warehouse during a Louisiana summer.”
–Evan

“I worked at a deli when I was 15. The father and son who owned it fought constantly, throwing pots and pans at each other.”
Jessica

“Babysitting for a family of 5 boys … enough said.”
–Brenna

The Messy

““I was a CSR at Arby’s, a fancy title for being a low-level cashier. I didn’t last a week … started a grease fire and haven’t cooked roast beef since.”
–Brett

“I was a dishwasher at LaRosa’s Pizzeria in high school.”
–James

“I was a custodian for the local school district – met lots of hard-working individuals.”
–Eric

“I was working for my grandparents’ cleaning business as soon as I could empty waste paper baskets.”
–Bec

“I was a dishwasher at Big Boy when I was 15.”
–Chad

Our first jobs set us on the paths that led us here, and many have been with the Majority Strategies team for over a decade.

Whether we learned it in a sweltering warehouse or a noisy kitchen, that strong work ethic is the pulse that has kept Majority Strategies going for 18 years and counting.

It’s our team.

It’s our talent.

It’s our tradition.

#WePlaytoWin.

We don’t deliver the pizzas anymore.

Today, we deliver the message.
