Tom Whatman joins the Majority Strategies team as our Chief Strategist with nearly 25 years of campaign and brand experience.
Tom most recently served as the Executive Director of former Speaker John Boehner’s campaign team. Tom was responsible for the Speaker’s political operations, including fundraising, travel, communications, NRCC involvement and Boehner’s role as a national Republican leader.
Whatman formerly served as Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Public Partners, a public affairs firm he founded in 2001 that grew into a multi-million dollar firm with clients including Reynolds America, Ford Motor Company, Brown and Williamson Tobacco, Penn National Gaming, Rock Ventures, Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, The Timken Company, and Crown Equipment Corporation, among others.
In addition to serving as the Executive Director of the Ohio Republican Party from 1994 through 2000, Whatman managed a successful $54 million campaign to bring casino gaming to Ohio that included a coalition of union and business groups, elected officials and citizens.
