When you talk about the basic elements of design and what is most important, font selection tops the list.

Much like good photography leads to great mail, the right font is essential to conveying the overall message of a mail piece or mobile ad.

Our graphic designers have a talent for selecting fonts …

  • A beautiful script to match a handsome family photo.
  • A bold lettering to emphasize strength and commitment.
  • A collegiate styling to play up a sports-themed attack piece.

Fonts matter.

In today’s “Ask a Designer,” we asked Bec to describe some of her favorite fonts to use in mail and mobile advertising.

“With so many fonts to choose, selecting the right one for an individual project is an art in itself. There are a few fonts that stand out and work well for a variety of print and digital advertisements, from mail to mobile ads to social media images.

Helvetica Neue is a very popular font, in part because of its legibility. It has a clean look, many varying weights within the family, and is cross-compatible.

Caecilia Slab is a great geometric option. With its even texture, it looks great both on-screen and in print.

“I also like Gotham. It’s modern flair is great for headings and subheadings that need to stand out and shine.”

Choosing the right font is one of the first steps in the design process – and one of the most important.

We’re glad to have a team of graphic designers that understands their importance and is able to pick the right font every time.
