Meet Erin Edenfield, one of Majority Strategies' talented graphic designers.

A Houston native who now calls Jacksonville home, get to know this Texan turned Floridian in this week’s #MeetMajority!

Favorite eats from your home state?
I grew up in Houston, and my favorite restaurant there is a South African fusion place called Peli Peli. My friends and I used to hang out there, and I don’t think we ever had anything that wasn’t amazing.

Last book you read?
I listen to books on my Kindle pretty much constantly, so I average around a book per day. One of my all-time favorite books is The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, and one of my favorite series is The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson.

What’s your favorite thing about where you live?
I love my apartment because it’s my space. It’s completely comfortable and probably says a lot more about me than I even realize!

Favorite song? And what do you do when it comes on in the car?
Growing up, one of my favorite songs was Should’ve Been A Cowboy (Toby Keith). My sisters and I love to sing along with that one.

What’s on your bucket list?
I would love to travel and take pictures all over the world, all the big touristy cities as well as out-of-the-way places that no one really thinks about. I sponsor kids through Compassion International, and one thing I’d love to do is travel to take pictures for the Compassion children of their friends and their families. I always loved having photos of my friends and family to hang up or show to people, and I think it would be something special that I could do that they’d enjoy.

What motivates you to tackle the day?
Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men”, and I can apply that to whatever I have to do on any given day, although admittedly, some days it’s easier than on others.

Members of your family? Kids, pets …
I have a 9-yr-old dog named Bria and a 1-yr-old cat named Mina. They keep me entertained when I’m at home, especially Mina, who’s a shameless kleptomaniac – socks, pictures, magnets, sponges, Christmas ornaments, and jewelry, among other things.

Thanks, Erin!
